Before we hear from this week’s Folkadelphia Session, let me tell you about Kettle Pot Tracks, who produce On The Hill Sessions, bringing mostly local-ish as well as some touring acts into their home studio to capture pristine video and audio. Nicole and Michael who run the whole operation have become friends of Folkadelphia and we often shoot messages back-and-forth about music. I consider them a great source of musical discovery – y’all should too, check out their site! So that gets us to this week’s session with New Englanders Mark Mandeville & Raianne Richards. We first heard the duo on Kettle Pot Tracks’ site which featured three tight performances (as well as two nicely filmed videos). We were already fans when Mark reached out to us to schedule a session around the two’s performances at Burlap and Bean back in Spring. The best part of their performance is the undeniable chemistry Mark and Raianne have together; they play with a comfortability and trust that can only come with years of partnership. They allow enough space in their musical bond to for us to settle in and witness some serious songwriting and playing – thanks for that, you two!
Tonight November 6th, Raianne Richards and Mark Mandeville return to the area to gig at Melodies Cafe in Ardmore, PA with another Folkadelphia Sessioneer Kyle Swartzwelder.
